About
About this blog
Absolutely Fuzzy is a personal style blog by Sydney-based graphic designer Stephanie. She has a penchant for art and design, fashion, food and frequent bouts of wanderlust and more often than not, will blog about these things.
My personal style
I think my style is kind of simple, accessible, with a bit of an edge. I’m usually out for 8-10 hours a day so it definitely has to be functional. I love a good detail and I always seem to be wearing leather one way or another. Since my move to Sydney my style has definitely become a lot more casual. My wardrobe is a mix of mid/high and low end labels – some of my favourites are Sass & Bide, Alexander Wang, Helmut Lang, Theyskens’ Theory and Acne, and I often shop at Zara, Topshop and ASOS.
Blogging and the way I dress
I’ve always been conscious of the way I dress, but I do give it a little bit more of a think before I walk out of the door. The ‘style’ part of my blog isn’t about experimenting or discovering my personal style but rather an ongoing documentation of the outfits and things that I like, and I always wear my outfits for the day. The way you see me on my blog, that’s the outfit I wear to work, etc – I usually take pictures in the morning before I go out. It’s just a different style of blogging – some bloggers style and come up with photo shoots, which i think is pretty rad.
This blog, over the years
I’ve had this blog for over ten years but I’ve only started with the personal style posts late 2011. I read a lot of fashion blogs because I love fashion and I’ve always had an interest in photography and one day I got a DSLR and I thought, I should start some kind of style diary. Why not? I guess the biggest evolution is how I blog – I’ve always posted about things that I love, things that inspire me, things I get up to.. except now (compared to when I first started) there are a lot more bloggers online and blogging for me has become a lot more visual – I post more photos these days than I write. I think it’s partly because the blogosphere is a lot more saturated now, and pictures communicate faster than words (I won’t say better because that’s only half true!) and also last year I started doing a Friday Five shopping series – it’s a nice outlet for my ever-worsening online shopping habit!
