The wedding went brilliantly without a hitch.
Kind of hard to remember Roy’s officially married, since we all think he’s been married for the past 3 years anyway. Phuong looked so gorgeous! Photos later.. have so many on my camera that I haven’t had time to download.
This trip has been crazy. Much to my chagrin, what started off as a soul-search ended up being exactly that (some times things never happen the way you want it to, you know? But when it does, you can’t help but feel a little thankful and amused at the same time). I think whatever issues I have prior are circled around the denial of certain things. I haven’t really been able to be me in a long time.
I hardly know myself these past couple of days. Been kind of stretching out my ‘feelers’ to try get an idea of what makes me what I am. And who I want to be. Not that I don’t already know most of it. But certain topics have always been a grey area for me, things like sex, religion, drugs, politics (obviously there is more) and I often used to wonder if the way I feel about, say sex, is what it is because I’m taught to think a certain way.. which is a very conservative Asian opinion by the way, and not necessarily how I actually see it if I could find out for myself and form my own values and ideas. It helps to be around people who are open-minded. It’s liberating and fun.
I’m going to do something completely unexpected and leave Brisbane for a day to hang out with someone I just met on this trip. You know, besides doing other random things like getting a tattoo, and buying out half of Melbourne’s chocolate supply.
Life’s really too short for what ifs. Not falling into that trap again!
