I got an email today. It’s from a close friend I had a sort of falling out with. It’s one of those crazy friendships where although we haven’t been in each other’s lives for long it seems like its been forever.. and of course life hasn’t been quite the same since we stopped talking. But me? I got too caught up in my own issues to initiate contact first (and of course procrastination did get the better of me, but I’m not about to apologise for my many mortal faults). I’m so glad one of us did.
The email said “I’m a better person when you’re around”.
I don’t know if you read my blog. But I forgot to tell you those words mean a lot to me. And that (predictably) I emo-ed (in a good way) after googling the lyrics and got all teary (really) and hit send instead of save before I could type that in a pps. That’s why I sent you the same email twice.
