Had a pretty big weekend this week, two birthdays and one wedding!
The wedding reception for Isabel and David was at Curzon Hall and it is absolutely stunning at night. It’s the sort of place one would imagine a fairytale wedding would take place, and it was just that! And there was just so much food that by the time the main course arrived I could hardly get through it.. which is saying a lot for me :( I keep forgetting (on purpose, I think) to bring my camera with me so here’s are some iPhone pics from the lovely church wedding in the late afternoon:
Dropped by ‘cousin’ Ben’s birthday at the Watershed after the wedding and all three birthday peeps were already pretty wasted by the time I got there. Parties here are ‘same same but different’ to most of the ones we do in KL – for one there aren’t any full bottles of liquor anywhere except behind the bar!
This coming week will be a bit easier on me. The only plans I have are vegging on the beach with Jo, hopefully the weather permits on the weekend.. I really need to refresh my tan! Oh, and more shopping! :)
Will be headed back to KL pretty soon but before I go I have one more birthday to celebrate and plan. It’s sort of a surprise for MJ who isn’t expecting a big one but everyone wants to make a big deal out of it because it’s his 30th.. I can’t agree more. So I guess the surprise element would be upsizing his party! I already got MJ’s birthday present, which isn’t a surprise – gold tickets to Pearl Jam’s one and only Sydney show. HOW EXCITED AM I!? This is the really awesome thing about Sydney, all these massive acts drop in all the time. Green Day, Liza Minnelli, Andre Rieu, Lady Gaga, Nickelback, Beyonce.. just in the next few months. Tried getting tickets to Liza’s show at the Opera House earlier but they were sold out. I know they just announced another show, but I should go easy on the bank account..
Currently listening to David Gray’s Slow Motion, from his album Life in Slow Motion. Probably my favourite song in the universe and I am stoked he is coming to Sydney a few days after I get back from KL.. how lucky am I! In about 22 minutes the presale tickets go online. Not that I’m counting/constantly refreshing the page..
