The first day of Summer

Today is the first official day of Summer, and I am sitting next to an open window freezing. The weather has gone a little bipolar lately. Especially after that lovely end-of-Spring weekend!

Listening to The Postal Service right now, and putting more old posts online. Semi-marveling at the person I used to be. Was I really like that? So full of ignorant bliss and such a pain in the arse! I’ve changed so much over the years, as a person, as a friend, as a daughter. I have half a mind to take them right back down again. Trying to pinpoint what exactly is different is hard; life is a constant cycle of evolution and so are we. We make mistakes, we learn, we right them when we can and hope our experiences make us a better person.

Moving here has been the hardest thing I’ve ever done. But for the right reasons, it is also the best thing I could ever do for myself. It wasn’t for someone else, it was for me. In spite of all the negative aspects of it, I haven’t been this happy with myself for as long as I can remember.

:)

The next few weeks leading up to Christmas and 2010 will be a very busy few weeks.

Finally organised a lot of things I have been putting aside: Booked flights, hotels. Put in the order for dad’s shopping. Sorted a cat sitter. Sorted a new gym pass. Booked in for a x-ray (busted ankle, again – second time in two weeks). Thought about packing. Organised dinner. Done my taxes. Paid bills. Halfway through Christmas shopping. Got my NSW driving license.

Feels great to have so much out of the way!
