Red-eye flights

in Good times

It’s been a nutter of a weekend. The blog had some server-side issues and was down for what felt like forever. At the same time my broadband at home got capped (I saw that one coming!) and I haven’t realised how terribly SLOW capped speeds are. Incredibly frustrating; and thank God for mobile 3G! Vowing to stay away from cap limits from this day forward.

The boy called after work on Friday night and I went into the city to catch up for some staffies. Yeah, okay, I did need a drink but thought it would be an early one for sure because I have not been sleeping more than 5 hours the whole week! When I left home at midnight I was actually ready to sleep. Instead of jumping into my PJs, I jumped into my jeans instead. Bad move! One drink turned to too many and at 5:40am, finally got home and crashed out before waking up at 9am to make a groggy phone call. Did not make it to the Pyrmont markets, or to the Biennale, or even out of bed before 2pm and a double quarter pounder with cheese saved me from hangover hell. Felt like a total waste of a Saturday afternoon and I’m sure my friends aren’t too happy at the last minute cancellations but ah, I haven’t had a Jager bomb in an age and we all know Jager bombs makes you crazily intent on Netherlands-Brazil footie matches, especially of the World Cup variety.

Also, best Bloody Marys in Sydney (very possible, since I’ve not tasted better):

These babies can be found at Shady Pines. LOVE! Though, they may be taking it off the menu soon as they run a dash of beet through it and beet sure messes up the juicer! Not good when you juice everything fresh at the bar (win!) but thankfully the boy also makes a good Bloody Mary. Especially good making up your daily serves and fruit and veg methinks.
