Some inspiration in the form of beautiful watercolour/ink illustrations from London/Stockholm-based artist Amelia Hegardt, whose work has graced the windows of Harrods, amongst other similarly high-profile clients. I love the feminine watercolour bleeds that are wonderfully balanced by her inkwork and intricate detail.. Check out her blog here, and more work here!

Some pictures from The Blocks on the weekend, a wine/art event by Penfolds and Studio Toogood. Gorgeous venue at the Wharfs by the water, some interesting art pieces to check out and the wine was good (as expected) – just wished there was more than finger food, $100 doesn’t get anywhere for two and we had to pop round the corner for some good old Italian after! Ends April 5th.

Helmut Lang top, Elizabeth and James blazer.

Apologies for the radio silence! I’ve been down with the flu but plenty of stuff to post soon ;)

Came across these paintings by Tokyo-based illustrator Awazu Yasunari and was immediately captivated by his use of expressive and bold brush strokes that are wonderfully offset by finer detailing. I’m also equally fascinated by the conscious omission of detail, a concept that I too as a designer once explored. Some times you just gotta allow the wonderful thing that is the human imagination to work a little!

Nervous System

Check out this range of jewellery by Nervous System – where the innovative design process is an organic, generative process that involves complex geometries and repetition of forms through an interactive applet. Production for certain items involves rapid prototyping (3D printing) as well as traditional methods depending on material, and if that isn’t unique enough, you can even design your own for prices as low as $10 – reasonable or what? I’m crushing on those organic black and white nylon and sterling silver pieces..

I love the work of NY-based freelance illustrator Bernadette Pascua – aren’t her illustrations just so beautiful? Boasting a client list with the likes of Vogue, W Magazine, Tiffany & Co. and Glamour it’s no surprise to hear that she will be launching an online shop to sell her work soon (yay!). If you like her work you should also check out her personal blog, Decade Diary, which is equally amazing!
