Friday Five: Mixed Metals

I’m highly partial to metallic things – maybe I was a magpie in a past life! In this life however, I find metallics the easiest way to add an extra point of interest to an outfit. Here are some I’ve been stalking this week, really loving the chain effect of the ASOS necklace and the classic simplicity of the Nixon watch. The JC booties have been on my radar for a while now but now they are on sale for around $50-$100 and I can’t decide if I should get the blue or silver ones..

Friday Five: Knits

Friday Five: KnitsI’m not sure what to make of the weather, yesterday was the hottest May day in 70 years yet it was so cold at the start of the week. Anyhow, the knits are out and so much fun to layer! I should post some outfits soon, but things have been a bit crazy and I’ve tried to compensate by updating my Instagram with what I’ve been wearing lately.

Here are a few pieces that caught my eye recently. Apologies if this isn’t quite relevant to my readers across the pond who are lucky enough to not be stuck with the cold! Currently a little more than obsessed with this pale mint Kain number. It just looks so comfortable and the perfect colour to complement the dropping mercury. Love the collar detail, and I think the only thing stopping me is the fact that I also dig this Theyskens’ Theory in a similarly muted mint that borders on being a cool grey.

This past season Alexander Wang knit is perfection. I know because I have one in grey. So is this Sass & Bide one with their signature metal embellishments – love all the little details and wish I could afford it all! :)

Friday Five: Beach bound

This week’s Friday Five was inspired by packing for my trip, and of course these are the pieces I wish I had with me. OK, I cheated a little and wrote this post before I left. The Zinke one-piece has this super cute removable peplum piece; it’s a little outside my usual style (one-pieces are not my thing) but I think it is pretty special, kind of feeling chevron right now. The Prism sunnies are the most perfect tortoiseshell ones I’ve ever seen – it’s going straight on my wishlist. The usual problem is that it’s hard for me to find sunnies that suit me well so when I find a pair I stick to it and have had mine for almost five years! Boring, I know – time for a change I think. Rag & Bone lending some Celine Cabas vibes on the beach and you can never really go wrong with a pair of coral shorts. As a bonus everything can be worn all at once; yeah I’ve just picked out my ultimate beach outfit for the weekend :)

Friday Five: Rose Gold Accessories

When Balenciaga first introduced giant rose gold hardware in SS10 I could barely contain my excitement. It’s such a understated, elegant colour – less flashy than gold and a little dressier than silver. Why was it not done before? Obsessed! A few years on and it looks like this colour is here to stay – here are some of my favourite rose gold items! Isn’t that Rocco duffel amazing!? And those Linda Farrow sunnies.. I wonder if they will ship here in time for my trip next week..

Shashi rose gold nugget bracelet
Alexander Wang Rocco duffel with rose gold hardware
Linea Pelle Ricky skinny cone stud belt
Balenciaga Arena giant rose gold Money wallet
Linda Farrow luxe shiny rose gold sunglasses

Have an awesome weekend!

Friday Five: Fall Palette

I’m still in denial about the season change! Just currently digging these few pieces and wish I could well wear these gorgeous T-Strap sandals on the weekend and somewhat fantasising about these wedges I really, really like. I think it’s the triangle detail in the wedge that I dig, or the subtle bandage look? Hmm. Wanderlust+Co have a winner with the Xylo series, I have one in taupe and finally after weeks have decided that the red is my second favourite. They come in so many gorgeous leather colours that it’s so hard to decide. And how cute are these pants? It’s so strange that I’ve fallen in love with so many pairs of printed pants just this year, for someone who had none to begin with I think I’m doing very well!
