Listening to Low’s I Could Live in Hope album is probably a little too downtempo and depressing for the mood I’m in today but the bass is just so damn awesome! Low always makes me feel like picking up a guitar despite guitars (strings in general) not being something I’m even remotely good at. Have spent the last hour cleaning up my iTunes playlist, now half the size it was a year ago because I’m running out of space (again). Thank God for external drives! I’ve been looking up some new music on YouTube that some friends have recommended over the past few months and have some serious catching up to do.. maybe I should just give in and buy a new laptop with a hard drive bigger than 80 gigs :P

It’s been a good weekend. Went to a birthday BBQ yesterday in North Sydney and caught the sunset with some good beer and good company. I brought a bottle of Syrah which I didn’t even get to touch until today where I finished it off while watching season two of True Blood. Things sure get pretty freaky pretty fast in the second season!!

I spent the late afternoon listening to the waves from the cliffs near Tamarama, with a ham and cheese croissant and a bottle of Gatorade. It was a nice couple of hours catching up with my reading (Ayn Rand, The Romantic Manifesto) and getting a headstart on my tan. That was the first time since I got back to Sydney that I’ve had some quiet time to myself which I’ve needed for a while. Things have been pretty full on in the past month and since I got back I’ve been so busy that I only just finally got my household chores done today!

If there is one song that I can listen to over and over and over again, it would be this one. It has been a favourite of mine for a very long time and I’ve finally found the album it was originally from!

Luke is:

“Otherwise known as Luther Campbell, the entrepreneur and head of 2 Live Crew since its inception in the mid-’80s, Luke is a solo project for Campbell apart from his group’s releases. The first release as Luke, 1993′s In the Nude, was followed by an X-rated Christmas album and a greatest-hits LP before the project signed a contract with Island for 1997′s Changin’ the Game. Luke’s Freak Fest 2000 followed three years later; Somethin’ Nasty appeared in spring 2001. In 2006 he announced that he was retiring from hip-hop and launching an adult video company. He said goodbye to his fans with the three-CD collection My Life & Freaky Times.” ~ John Bush, All Music Guide
