Had a really fun weekend and still recovering from it.
Isabel, whom I met through Zona, had her hen’s night on a party bus and we got on, got it on and got down to it – in the end it’s all about the company I reckon. It was my first time on one and despite squeezing into stilettos again and having to take them off at the end of the night (feet have lower tolerance now that I seem to live in flats) I had a lot of fun and met a couple of new friends on the way. My friends should get married more often…
The next night I found myself in company of some old friends, bidding farewell to GT who is moving to London to be with his girl. I am sad he’s leaving, he is probably my oldest friend here and Sydney won’t quite be the same without him. But on the other hand am really happy he has found the one :)
Later that same night, answering an iPhone shared location map, I found myself playing treasure hunt in a cab and ended up somewhere in Glebe, at a Vegas-themed party thrown by students. It was silly, and I had a great time laughing at Babyface trying to hold on to to the bet someone made for $500, if he stayed in a baby stroller the whole night. He lost, of course. I forget how much fun these things can be, it’s been a while since I was a student and I’m quite glad to leave that all behind.
Haven’t had this many tequila shots in one weekend in years.
It has been a looooong fortnight. The relaunch party of the newly redesigned OK! Malaysia went underway about a week ago, and it was fabulous. Surprisingly most people turned up in red, according to the dress code, which is somewhat rare for parties like these.

And as last Friday officially marked the end of my tenure at Catcha, it somehow made this party more significant. It is the fabulous people I work with that I will miss more than anything.
And of course I was busy wrapping up, packing, reorganising, shopping (!), and having long lunches with a lot of people I won’t be seeing in a while after I leave. And I guess now is as good a time as any to mention that I’ve decided to haul my ass over to my favourite city in the world.. Sydney. I don’t even know where to begin explaining how this city has come to mean what it means to me since I’ve never been there for more than three months at a time. I made a promise to myself many years ago I would stay for longer than that and since there is never a right time to make big decisions, now is as good as any. Of course it might very well have been New York, but thankfully (or not) I’ve never been there. I’m excited. At the same time this is probably the scariest decision I’ve ever made. Even more so than loaning someone my Macbook for the day. Gasp.
Anyhow.
It’s been fabulous. Still is. I’m kinda still working through April. Long story.
Leaving for Cambodia on Sunday. Can’t wait.
Despite protests from my inner geek wanting to stay home and umm, make potions or something.. I made it out two Friday nights in a row. Of course it helped that the last Friday was a JUICE event (in collabo with Topshop/Topman presenting their SS07 collection) and as we know it, JUICE events are always a blast. It didn’t disappoint. The crowd at 9pm was horrendous. In a good way, of course, because more people equals happy clients. I barely managed to get myself in, thanks to Jon I wasn’t stuck outside for 40mins in the queue. I’m one of those horrible people who never RSVP, not even to my own events LOL.
It was really fun, especially with the fabulous ‘Catcha Girls and friends’ around.. any occasion is a reason to party. That should be our motto, man.

My new best friend:

The Smirnoff 55
Came in a bulletproof Yamamoto case with martini glasses in tow at the Smirnoff James Bond Casino Royale party at Cynna. Amazingly, the key that came with my invite opened the first case. I think it’s called fate.. hehe.

What? No money?

Quite a cool concept for a party. You get four chips upon entry. These can either be traded for drinks at the bar (the martinis were brilliant), or if you’re feeling lucky doubled at the roulette/blackjack tables for even more drinks. Glad I went, and thanks to Steve for helping me pick out something to wear otherwise I’d have gone in jeans (or not gone at all!)
Feeling a bit sick from three weeknights of going out. All work-related, too. I sound like a man on the phone now, my throat is going to crash on me, perhaps almost as husky and deep as Bond’s. I know I need proper sleep at some stage, weekends are just not cutting it. And then there’s the Pure Ibiza party on the weekend.. GG. Can’t afford to fall sick because JUICE is launching in Hong Kong next weekend!
