The last Friday Five for 2011! Wow, this year has gone past so fast :)
What I love most about the end of the year are the sales.. I get really excited when I get an email about the stuff on my wishlist that are on sale. I think that shoes are not as ‘season’ dependent as clothes can be and I buy mine mostly when they are on sale and here are some of my favourite ones on sale.
Topshop Garter block Mary Janes $70
Sam Edelman Lyla pumps $75
Bertie Kai low heel ankle boot $158
Dolce & Gabbana velvet-embellished bow sandals $188
Alexander Wang Luisa open toe suede booties $275
With so many sales everywhere, it can be confusing. My sale shopping rules are simple:
1. Would you buy it for full price? If not, put it back down. Cheap items tend to lead to impulse buys that never leave the closet.
2. Shop in Summer for cheap Winter clothes and vice versa. Stock up on basics like a white shirt or a trench coat, you can never go wrong.
3. Have a budget and stick to it (the hardest part!) :)

A fun night out at Kings Cross where Jo & I had the best Vietnamese meal, found a cafe with a harp player and I’m now suffering the repercussions of having late night coffee. I took some nice night shots of the famous fountain however we didn’t manage to get a proper shot of my outfit but I really love what I’m wearing so I decided to post these anyway.
These shoes are really old Louboutin Miminette wedges and on its last legs. I bought them 4-5 years ago maybe and they have been worn to death – the mirror finish is scuffed beyond salvation (probably a good thing the picture is not clear haha) but I love them so much that I can’t bear to throw them out. I would buy another pair in a heartbeat if they still made these in silver.. if anyone has a pair kicking around in a size 38,5 please let me know.. time for a new pair of wedge shoes perhaps! :)
DIY jacket, Robert Rodriguez top, Black Milk Galaxy leggings, Balenciaga Courier, Louboutin wedges.

I can’t resist a classically beautiful pair of shoes, especially after liquidating more than half my shoe collection on eBay when I moved to Sydney. But I guess if you don’t get rid of some of the old, there’s no space for the new.. haha. Looking forward to wearing these out very soon!
Getting my head around my camera’s manual controls, slowly. It’s great to have so much control over the result of the pictures!

Injecting a little dose of sunshine into your day – here are some cute orange items I’ve found this week; the perfect fluoro orange satchel from none other than The Cambridge Satchel Company. I remember browsing their site a while ago and they have a service where you can get your initials embossed on your bag, how cool? These suede orange platforms are a perfect colour accent to an all black outfit, and the Jagger Edge iPhone cover comes in a range of different colours (again with the studs!). Jeweller Alyssa Norton did an exclusive range for ASOS and this is one of the pieces — it’s actually a mens bracelet but I love the raw suede detail and and it looks great oversized!
Topshop Lush strappy platforms
Alyssa Norton Chunky bracelet
ASOS Pleated shorts
Cambridge Satchel Fluoro satchel
Jagger Edge Montana studded iPhone cover

Some stunning new wedges from British designer Atalanta Weller, part of her FW11 collection which is only her fourth season.. so hard to believe! The mix of textures and colours are so rich and luxe and am really head over heels for the cognac bootie with the gold scales on the wedge.. oh my..
