Some pictures from The Blocks on the weekend, a wine/art event by Penfolds and Studio Toogood. Gorgeous venue at the Wharfs by the water, some interesting art pieces to check out and the wine was good (as expected) – just wished there was more than finger food, $100 doesn’t get anywhere for two and we had to pop round the corner for some good old Italian after! Ends April 5th.

January

Some pictures from my month. There are always a lot of things going on in January here – mostly a part of the Sydney Festival, but also plenty of other food, music, art and design events all around the city. I only wish we had more beach weather! The last image is my submission to the ACP gallery, it’s hanging up as part of the Term 4 Student Show until the 5th of Feb!

I hope everyone’s been having a lovely Christmas!! I’ve been busy but didn’t want to neglect my blog so I thought I would share a few pictures I took recently. There have been lots of Christmas parties and catching up with a few friends who’ve dropped into Sydney for Christmas.. the first two pictures of Sydney’s most iconic landmarks were taken for photography class.

For Christmas Eve, W and I went to his mum’s place for dinner and I had my first bûche de noël (a log-shaped Christmas cake). This morning I woke up at 7am to go to the city for Boxing Day sales, it was quite crazy, there was a long line outside most stores (the big department stores open at 5am!?) but I got into Zara without any waiting and bought a pair of bright printed pants and a denim shirt and went back home and my boyfriend was still sleeping.. hehe. We are probably doing a lot of nothing in the next few days and I will share some more pictures soon! x

Only two more weeks until Christmas and the city is buzzing! W and I wandered into Sydney for some laksa on Hunter St and some shopping. Finally, we had a little bit of sunshine but it’s still a bit too chilly for my liking. This light shirt jacket was a perfect throw-on. I love the fact that has jacket-like qualities with the adjustable waist and pockets but made of beautifully combed cotton that doesn’t wrinkle easily in the lightest drab olive. I have a feeling I’ll be wearing it a lot this Summer, the length of it also makes it a great beach cover-up. The cuff was a gift and I don’t remember where this necklace was from, I’ve had it for ages.. it’s one of my favourites. So close to finishing my Christmas shopping now, I’ve done most of it online and the packages are slowly arriving. I have one more really important one and I hope it gets here in time! It’s always so exciting this time of the year.. I’m especially excited to check out everyone’s Christmas-related posts over the coming weeks :)

Free People Sweater

The weekend was a flurry of activity: a gig at the Oxford Art Factory on Friday night, apartment hunting in the morning, the Picasso: Masterpieces from the Musée National Picasso, Paris exhibition at the National Art Gallery in the afternoon and various errands in the city, cake baking (I was asleep for this bit) and picture taking for our photography assignment.

I had on a pair of leather shorts/boots in morning but changed into something more appropriate for the sudden reappearance of the sun (in case you’re wondering about the rogue gray shorts). It has been raining all week, and finally we had a little window of sunshine in the late afternoon which has thankfully carried on until now.. This waffle knit sweater by Free People is just about the most perfect thing to roll out of bed into.

We had textbook Summer weather on Sunday, but spent most of it indoors at class, and then gathered round at Raymond’s for a dinner that consisted mainly of spicy food and wine – a lovely wind up to a rather exhausting weekend. Hope you had a lovely one!
