Marc by Marc Jacobs bag

I’m a huge coffee addict and living in Sydney has just made it a little bit worse. No one really does coffee like they do down under, and that’s mostly only evident when I’m out of the country. Driving past Alexandria, we decided to stop for some takeaway coffee at The Grounds. Possibly one of the best in Sydney (at least the only place I know of that has a research facility) and the Italian providore next door has enough varieties of gourmet salt to keep anyone happy. I left with a small bag of pyramid-shaped Cyprus sea salt crystals and garlic-infused extra virgin olive oil that I got to bottle myself (!). W and I gave the cheese room a miss as we already bought too much stuff. Thankfully we don’t do this too often as you can imagine our pantry at home is a little on the well-stocked side.

Here’s hoping the weather stays like this for the rest of the week - hot enough to leave the sleeves at home and pull out the old straw hat when you’re silly enough to have left home without your sunnies (not recommended.. /squint)

Yeah it’s a pretty popular spot especially on the weekend and the sun’s out.. must go some time!

With this dress the Bead jewellery from London is always awesome.

I’m also a huge coffee addict! But Sydney is too far away to come for a coffee..hehe
You should see our pantry. It’s always on the well-stocked side.
You look great in this photo! Although I know how it feels to forget your sunnies at home! Not so pleasant to squint all the time.

Such a classic look, it makes me miss the summer already. I’m unpacking my felt hats and you’re wearing adorable straw fedoras!

I’m always aware of the seasonal differences especially Aussie bloggers being a minority compared to Europe and North American bloggers :) I’m going to miss all the fall winter layering!

Thanks Kim, ha, I think it’s probably because this is pretty much me on a daily basis.. :)

You have a knack for taking really simple pieces but wearing them with attitude so they look cool. It’s a white vest and black skirt and sandals (admittedly nice sandals) but all very plain pieces but all look fab together. I hope you don’t take that the wrong way - what I’m trying to say that you wear it really well (dig, dig, dig).

And it’s weird looking at you in summer wear and I’m sat here with a tartan scarf round my neck and a blanket on my knees. Weird.

Thanks Sue, ha yeah they are all pretty much standard basics. I’m totally aware that my style is kind of more casual than most.. probably because I’ve always had a job that doesn’t require me to dress up. Makes me kind of lazy since jeans and tank tops are always an option :)

      • http://susiesoso.blogspot.co.uk/ Sue

No - that’s good. I relate more to the people who have a more simplistic wearable style because I’m a SAHM so I need to see how other people dress casually but well. I am now wrapped up in the morning with a woolly scarf and a big padded gilet. Bomber girl springs to mind but not in a good way. Oh for the temperatures of summer again.

Really love how relaxed & easy this outfit is, perfect for what I imaging the weather to be like at the moment!
I’m a huge coffee addict too, I’m actually pretty glad we don’t have any nice coffee places around here, as I know I’d end up spending a fortune in them every day! I’d never heard of gourmet salt before, but it sounds amazing, I’ll have to look into that, seems like it would make a nice, unique little present for a foodie too & I know many of them! I wouldn’t have been able to pass up the cheese though, I love cheese shops!

You’re totally right about spending a fortune on coffee. I have at least one a day and average about $1,000 on takeaway coffee a year. And now that I’ve actually counted it out it does seem like a lot :O

Gourmet salt would definitely make a great present for any foodie! That’s actually a really great idea for Christmas, haha, which I’m totally going to steal :)

Cool outfit! I definitely agree with you about our brilliant coffee. Melbourne is the same. I think it’s impossible to find a bad coffee.
