Things I’ve learnt this year (thus far) Part 2:
15. Am wrong about him on so many levels
16. Some people are content with longing, I am not one of them
17. I love food. For these simple reasons: that it brings people together; that it expresses what some times words cannot; that it is such a simple love, as George Bernard Shaw once said, “There is no sincerer love than the love of food.”
18. I looove food.
19. I loooooove food. Ahhhhh. If I won the lottery I would spend most of my money on food and a PT just to keep those love handles in check.
20. Sydney food bloggers are mostly asian and mostly Malaysian. HAH. Malaysia represent! Actually come to think of it I’d be hard pressed to name more than a handful of Malaysians who DON’T like food. I think it’s part of our genetic makeup.

Current obsession:
In love with The Invitation by Oriah - had goosebumps reading this!

It doesn’t interest me what you do for a living
I want to know what you ache for
and if you dare to dream of meeting your heart’s longing.
It doesn’t interest me how old you are
I want to know if you will risk looking like a fool
for love
for your dreams
for the adventure of being alive.

1. “You don’t get to choose your family, but you get to choose your friends”
2. Was part of Professor Taylor’s life lesson #134,534: How to deal with Lesbians in a gay club. First rule? Don’t tell your friend you’re bringing them to a gay club if they are straight. Second rule? See if they sink or swim (or run away in shock) before giving advice. Rule three? Have a good giggle, of course. Interesting lesson with err.. added scary butch thrown in. Thanks, yo.

I’m standin’ here outside your door
I hate to wake you up to say goodbye

July 17th, 2007
Love traveling. Some people hate airports; most of the time I am in quiet awe of the sense of purpose that infuses the air. Everyone has somewhere to go, someone to meet, something to do. It’s that something in common that transcends all races; still the barrier lies in the reluctance to break the ice between strangers. Ironically for all the material possessions that I own, I am happiest living out of a suitcase chasing flights and familiarising foreign street maps.

June 13th, 2007
Have discovered the best place for op-shopping in Malaysia: eBay. Vintage by the truckloads from all eras! So in love with maxi dresses from the 70s and classic Grecian drapes, angel wing sleeves and light-as-air chiffon. Original 60s mod prints and twiggy dresses (now if only I had twiggy limbs), vintage Gucci leatherware (pre-Tom Ford!!! Oh my…) and cheap PVC-look leggings ala LV this season! Haven’t bought anything though :)

March 13th, 2007
1. Packing for the beach is hard with a 7kg limit. Hairdryer: to bring or not to bring?
2. Why is it the more interesting life is the less inclined I am to blog about it, and when it isn’t I am more than likely to bitch/whine/moan?
3. Craving Segambut Seafood Curry Noodles. Was supposed to make a trip there with Nik on Sunday but I overslept.
4. Needing more sleep that I normally get. But how?
5. Scored 8.5/9 in a recent exam; an old high school teacher will probably be overjoyed if she knew (she put me down for smart but hopeless, short attention span, have problems concentrating on tasks at hand, disruptive.. heh.)
6. Two formal events in two weekends.. gotta remember to do my dry cleaning. My white dress from Roy’s Brisbane wedding 4 months ago is still sitting in the ‘to dry clean’ bag.
7. I smoke too much.

March 8th, 2007
1. Totally re-addicted to SomaFM’s Secret Agent: The soundtrack for your stylish, mysterious, dangerous life. For spies and P.I.s too!
2. Have insomnia thus;
3. have been thinking about different states of denial and ignorance and how it affects me. Of course if it is ignorance [I don't know that I don't know] then I’d pretty much remain in the dark. Exploring both unconscious [I don't know that I know] and conscious [I know that I know but I'd rather not know] states of denial has me somewhat confused as to how many things in my life are really (not not really) as perceived.
4. Thrilled with my new Mathmos Airswitch, initially purchased as a christmas gift for TR but heck, it looks nicer in my room I reckon.

February 27th, 2007
1. I’ve just gotten back into my old music. Loves it. Big band breakbeats and whatnot. Trumpets and sax on top of a 40bpm bass line. Whatever you call it. It rocks.
2. Preoccupied with finding: a nice pair of semi-casual shorts, a bikini and a summer dress. Almost bought this long halter dress from Island Shop today, except the ‘long’ was above ankle length.. dammit :/
3. A thought just hit me today; the older I get the less interesting things seem and the less interesting I am to myself. If I am capable of boring myself to bits, what on earth would other people think? My theory is desensitization - the more exposed you are to all the facets that make up ‘life’ the less chance of surprise/amuse/intrigue factor. Hopefully everyone else will be too preoccupied with the same dilemma to pay any attention to the fact that I am actually.. quite boring. Yeah, whatever.

February 15th, 2007
Realising that some times people do things without thinking of the outcome and at these times I should not take it personal because they can turn around and surprise you in the most unexpected ways has kind of chipped away at the icy demeanor I exude. And it’s kinda nice.

February 5th, 2007
Izzy’s Restaurant/Bistro/Bar at Northpoint Mid Valley is a great place for lunch. I’m in love with their tiramisu-in-a-cup, and the creamy seafood spaghetti, and the braised lamb shank on a bed of fluffy basmati rice.. and the fact that they serve lemon lime bitters…
