Someone pointed out to me that I hadn’t posted any food pictures in a while.. and um, I guess having Instagram makes you lazy in a way and I have been posting mostly style-related stuff these days. I do carry my camera pretty much everywhere, so here some photos I haven’t posted from other bits of my life :) Highlights are a dinner at Quay, which is Australia’s best restaurant (!) and ranked #29 in the San Pellegrino world’s top 50 list that we went to for a friend’s birthday. Verdict? Definitely a worthy accolade. We had the infamous 8 texture chocolate cake (made famous by Oz MasterChef and shown here when it was only five textures) and the snow egg, though the latter wasn’t as awesome as it was in my head.. however the jersey cream and salted caramel dessert I ordered above blew me away. How amazing is the presentation? In a five second review I would definitely recommend the pork jowl, pretty much half of it is fat but the good kind that melts in your mouth in an ever so indulgent way, definitely guilt-inducing but oh-so-worth-it.

Aria is always another great place to go.. I’ve always been a huge fan of Matt Moran’s food so when Lynn suggested popping in when she was in town I really couldn’t say no to great company and food. We had the tasting menu overlooking the Opera House, everything was perfect, down to the final, beautifully delicate earl grey pannacotta. Between Quay that sits under the Harbour bridge, and Aria on the opposite side of the harbour, these are probably the two best restaurants with the best views in the city I think, so if you love food and plan to visit Sydney, definitely check them out.. and book ahead.
