To market, to market

Me and some friends decided to take a drive to the Rozelle markets on the weekend. I previously had a rather odd impression of Rozelle, having only been to a residential street that was fronted by what looked like an industrial area, so I had no idea there were so many quaint little shops further in the area. We spent way more time there than we had anticipated and after Rozelle we made our way further down Darling Rd to Balmain where we had a late lunch and did some more shopping.

There were a lot of ‘recycled’ fashion on display as well as some antiques and collectables. Kind of reminds me of the Glebe markets but smaller, and better buys I think!

I loved this red bicycle leaning against that gorgeous shade of green and I had almost talked myself into walking in and asking for a price when this old man walks up and rides away on the bike :)

This shop had a few interesting art pieces but yielded nothing. On the other hand, after a rummage around piles of second-hand things I did leave with a few finds.

1 - Feel, a Robbie Williams biography that EE was reading on this trip we took, that he dubbed his ‘Book of the Year’. I paid $2, what a find!

2 - Some sandalwood incense for another $2, however it wasn’t very good.

3 - A pair of fridge-frame magnets, for $3

4 - A black and white photograph of a black cat trying to jump off a high window, $5

And this, after bargaining Malaysian-style, for $18:

I love black and white images. This one tells a really nice story. Can’t wait to hang it up!
