It has been an interesting week for me fashion-wise. I’ve always had a love for fashion but only recently I’ve been out taking some street style pictures for a website (more on that later) and it has made me realise a few things:
Great looks don’t necessarily follow trends, but can create them
Not everyone can pull off a particular type of look (and it’s made me feel a bit better for some of my less successful experiments!)
Sydney is incredibly diverse when it comes to fashion
I am really interested in the thought process behind a great look, it can some times be just about the dress or the shirt but how it is finished off can take it from great to amazing
Not quite enough people wear hats
Taking photos of strangers has made me pay so much more attention, in the split second from I spot them to when I walk up to them, all the little details that can only be seen up close. It has been said that women dress for other women but I think that’s not entirely true. I get a lot of pleasure from the little things in my outfits that often go unnoticed and seeing so many detail shots in fashion blogs makes me feel a little vindicated somehow :)
I think fashion blogging, with so many people contributing to a global culture in so many different ways, is definitely changing the way we dress in one way or another. My blog list has expanded exponentially in the past month. There are so many good ones out there, so please share yours with me if you have one or know of some I may not have heard of!
I love details in my clothes and here are some dresses that caught my eye this week - BCBG clothes always have great little details like this one with the beautiful folds working so well with the fabric and colour tones; a simple knit dress by M Missoni in a really amazing colour combination, and I suspect would look quite amazing with a tan; a rather dramatic hemline by Topshop that will be perfect for summer with tan sandals; a cutout maxi by local Aussie designer Stylestalker with a sheer skirt and an exposed zip which may be past season but still looks like it should be hanging in my closet and this leather combo dress from ASOS I’m thinking of buying.. I really love leather and I’m not afraid to admit it!
BCBG Max Azria Gretchen draped dress in grape
M Missoni Knitted cotton dress
ASOS Leather bodice dress with sweetheart neckline
Topshop Orange one shoulder trail hem dress
Stylestalker Venom cutout maxi dress
Have a lovely weekend wherever you are!

It took me a while but I found some time to come to your blog again! I read your posts about your vacation in Greece the other day and they were really good. The pictures you took are amazing. So nice that you liked Greece so much that you want to come again. You should come to Northern Greece too. Lots of beautiful cities up here too. hehe
