In midst of packing; losing my ultimate packing list and finding it again was cause for headless panic on a Sunday afternoon. Winter is probably my most dreaded season; the art of layering has always eluded the me who finds amusement in building my outfits around the first item of clothing I come across in the mornings. Perhaps I shall use my scarves as an anchor. I dislike the cold very much. Despite my packing list comprising mainly of boring sweaters and jackets it doesn’t detract from the warm fuzzy feeling that you’re about to embark on trip. Except this one will be different. I’ve never really traveled in a group before, and I can’t help but wonder what it’s like not being solo for once.
Made pasta bake for lunch today. I miss cranking up the oven and cooking at home on weekends. Haven’t really had a good cooking session in a while - funny what makes me tick these days. I am excited, more than anything, about the thought of cooking with uncle Tony in his kitchen.
It has been a crazy month. For some reason it feels like I haven’t been doing much but I have tons of pictures to prove otherwise. Been moving around a lot and forgetting to blog about it. And it’s time to start packing again - making a trip to Oz with Lola, Audrey, Zee, Nik, Dawn, Nigel and gang next week. Apparently it’s the coldest winter in a while; can’t remember where I’ve stored my thermals. Hopefully I find them soon so I don’t have to buy another set. My room looks like a war zone from trying to pack. Doubt I will have time next week. I’ve never really enjoyed cold weather but I’d much rather suffer in the cold in a foreign city for a while than stick around in town and stress about work. Can’t wait to see Lynn, I miss my bitch! Still feeling a teeny bit blah despite all the energy surrounding me. Winter blues and I’m not even out of KL yet?! Am pinning this on the most devastating event in my entire working life: Starbucks in MV has shut for renovation for six long weeks. Six weeks! I am barely surviving my mornings these days without my soy lattes. Have also run out of my Calpis supply (bought a dozen bottles on a whim recently) and Jusco is out of stock yet again.. and probably for another three months like the last time they ran out of stock. At least having a great and unexpected MSN chat buddy makes up for it.. Nick has been helping keep me awake during work hours. But I still want coffee though!
Been also celebrating birthday after birthday after birthday. Looks like I’ll have to catch up with Tiff after I get back from my trip.. busy raiding schedule plus work commitments don’t leave time for much else. I’m glad my friends love me for the geek I am, I really am. Even rescheduled a tattoo appointment with Eleana although I can’t really remember what for now. We need to go shopping one of these days. Some pics from Kazza’s birthday on Saturday night (what, sorry Jules I didn’t get pictures of you):

Been super busy at work, meaning to post these up for a while. RWMF is crazy fun, if you haven’t been I suggest you find a bunch of crazy people and book right now! Most of the acts were really good, Huun Huur Tu and Malerija blew us away on Saturday night for their closing set. Local group Aseana Percussion Unit were also fabulous - I never thought I’d be singing along to Burung Kakak Tua in a crowd of 15,000 but it happened! Fabulous company, good music and endless supply of beer from Tommy.. what more could we have asked for? Well except that our MAS flights were delayed both ways.. pfft.
Haven’t been in Kuching in years so it was nice to make a return trip there. Wish we had more time to spend in the city :)
Just back from a weekend of delayed flights, fabulous ground-stomping music and sand in my underwear. Much props to the organisers, my first rainforest music event was a great experience. I must say it kicked arse:
More later.
