I believe today is the last day of Spring! Had lunch with one of my fave people Dr G yesterday and we messed around with my new camera lens that just arrived in the mail that morning.. really liking it so far :)
Stacking solids + prints + stripes today in navy.. as you may have noticed I’m really digging the navy + violet combo! Hope you’re having a lovely day.

I can’t resist a classically beautiful pair of shoes, especially after liquidating more than half my shoe collection on eBay when I moved to Sydney. But I guess if you don’t get rid of some of the old, there’s no space for the new.. haha. Looking forward to wearing these out very soon!
Getting my head around my camera’s manual controls, slowly. It’s great to have so much control over the result of the pictures!

The weekend was a flurry of activity: a gig at the Oxford Art Factory on Friday night, apartment hunting in the morning, the Picasso: Masterpieces from the Musée National Picasso, Paris exhibition at the National Art Gallery in the afternoon and various errands in the city, cake baking (I was asleep for this bit) and picture taking for our photography assignment.
I had on a pair of leather shorts/boots in morning but changed into something more appropriate for the sudden reappearance of the sun (in case you’re wondering about the rogue gray shorts). It has been raining all week, and finally we had a little window of sunshine in the late afternoon which has thankfully carried on until now.. This waffle knit sweater by Free People is just about the most perfect thing to roll out of bed into.
We had textbook Summer weather on Sunday, but spent most of it indoors at class, and then gathered round at Raymond’s for a dinner that consisted mainly of spicy food and wine - a lovely wind up to a rather exhausting weekend. Hope you had a lovely one!

Just some picks of festive bling I’m crushing on right now. Well, it doesn’t completely scream festive but it’s during this time of the year that I think more about jewellery than any other time plus there always seem to be more excuses to dress up a little more, right? I love love love Marni accessories for always being so different. This brass and resin necklace is a total statement piece, and in this season’s colour of the moment and so beautifully photographed too. What a stunner! Etsy fave Five and Two does some amazing pieces with natural crystal so every piece is slightly different and in a myriad of rainbow colours. I am completely enamoured with this ring as with the handcuff bracelets with the spikes.. can you imagine? It will toughen up any outfit in an instant! The ASOS page has it worn on both wrists, which would be a little restrictive and a little suggestive (!).. Mmm.. spikes.. how would you wear it?

Weather in Sydney is proving to be as schizophrenic as ever. After the glorious 35c weekend we now have a succession of wet 20c days which is forecasted to last all week. My lunch hour has been reduced to eating at my desk, which is hardly ideal considering how much time I already spend sitting in front of a computer when I really want to be out in the sun catching up on my reading.. grr.
This what I like to call my sack dress and so far it has proven to be one of the most versatile things in my closet. The asymmetrical shape and the ruching detail that runs through the length lends itself quite well to being worn unbelted. It actually has a round neckline but due to the slightly awkward way that it falls, it looks like it is intentionally angled and when it is belted up the shape then looks quite Grecian especially with a pair of strappy leather sandals. Also, I once attempted to roll myself into a ball and double this dress up over myself to test out the super-stretchy quality of the jersey fabric.. and the dress won. Possibly the best $20 I’ve ever spent :) What are some of your most versatile clothing items? x
