April 2012

This week’s Friday Five was inspired by packing for my trip, and of course these are the pieces I wish I had with me. OK, I cheated a little and wrote this post before I left. The Zinke one-piece has this super cute removable peplum piece; it’s a little outside my usual style (one-pieces are not my thing) but I think it is pretty special, kind of feeling chevron right now. The Prism sunnies are the most perfect tortoiseshell ones I’ve ever seen – it’s going straight on my wishlist. The usual problem is that it’s hard for me to find sunnies that suit me well so when I find a pair I stick to it and have had mine for almost five years! Boring, I know - time for a change I think. Rag & Bone lending some Celine Cabas vibes on the beach and you can never really go wrong with a pair of coral shorts. As a bonus everything can be worn all at once; yeah I’ve just picked out my ultimate beach outfit for the weekend :)

Something about the cross strap of this bag is strangely appealing. I haven’t been able to stop obsessing since I saw it last year on the messenger version! So. Much. Love! Especially besotted with the linen exterior – a really nice change up from my arsenal of leather bags :)

Some inspiration in the form of beautiful watercolour/ink illustrations from London/Stockholm-based artist Amelia Hegardt, whose work has graced the windows of Harrods, amongst other similarly high-profile clients. I love the feminine watercolour bleeds that are wonderfully balanced by her inkwork and intricate detail.. Check out her blog here, and more work here!

When Balenciaga first introduced giant rose gold hardware in SS10 I could barely contain my excitement. It’s such a understated, elegant colour - less flashy than gold and a little dressier than silver. Why was it not done before? Obsessed! A few years on and it looks like this colour is here to stay – here are some of my favourite rose gold items! Isn’t that Rocco duffel amazing!? And those Linda Farrow sunnies.. I wonder if they will ship here in time for my trip next week..

Alexander Wang Rocco duffel with rose gold hardware
Linea Pelle Ricky skinny cone stud belt
Balenciaga Arena giant rose gold Money wallet
Linda Farrow luxe shiny rose gold sunglasses

Have an awesome weekend!
