Magic vodka!

Tuesday, September 30th, 2003

What did I do Sunday? Everyone went to church and I stayed home, escaped to the city and had a coffee with Phuong before going to pick Roy up from his Magic game. The place he was playing was a typical gaming place, and it stunk to high heavens because there were so many guys stuffed into this small room with bad ventilation.. we went to Gaya for dinner (Korean place) and they drove me back.

Last night was pretty fun, we started with champagne at the bar next to the Family while waiting for some of Roy’s friends to arrive. Roy’s friend’s girlfriend Tina got us into the club. They’re pretty cool people. Dan’s Roy’s Magic friend.. he’s a Russian/Aussie who speaks flawless Beijing mandarin and him and Roy are going to Sydney this weekend for a Magic Tournament! Geeks!

Roy got a tab and started ordering vodka shots by the dozen. I stopped drinking at about 8 shots (Roy insists I had about 15 shots) when I started feeling a little giggly and made everyone else drink the rest. Roy was on Gin/Tonic the whole night. I managed to get two shots down him somehow and Dan, Russian and naturally vodka drinker, finished off everything else. Not a bad night, our group were probably the oldest people there.. alot of college/uni kids and since it was an Asian dance party, most of them were Asian. Family is not a bad place, my third time there.. We left pretty early.. just past midnight I think, not sure exactly what time but Roy had to work.. but then again we were there at 9pm and the queue was around the block.. mad! Lucky Tina knew the bouncers.

Just got back from the city, we went to catch Phuong for lunch and ended up at an arcade watching Roy play Daytona and some kids kicking ass in Tekken.. Roy and Dan are trying to get me to play Magic.. seems interesting but it’s too expensive to start playing seriously!! Better stick to Diablo..

Day 6?

Woke up nice and early today and went to Mt. Nebo to visit my uncle’s friends who runs a vineyard there.. yum yum! Here are some pictures..

Cellar entrance.. funny signage, no?

Leaving the place after a few glasses of red.. burp!

View from the vineyard wine tasting area.

Me and Petra the giant dog! She’s bloody huge!

And here are two shots from Thursday’s mad shopping spree. I know the shots are tiny but I’m too lazy to resize it manually.. using XP Powertoy’s resizer for PDA viewing.. LOL.

Overloaded at Harbourtown

Me and mom taking a break from shopping!

Just had a typical Aussie BBQ at my uncle’s - my cousin Justin’s 23 now.. and he had a bit of badlucks earlier today.. he crashed his beemer into his sister’s beemer so now both their cars have dents in them. Ouch. They’re driving old school 80’s BMWs which I think are really cool cars to collect.. and pretty expensive to fix! I’m lazy today. Don’t feel like posting muchness. And I’m talking crapness..

ZzZz! Time to sleep!!

Party pooper, hey, it’s Friday night!

Friday, September 26th, 2003

Stayed in most of today and went online earlier on.. everyone seems to be out tonight (yea, I know it’s the weekend!) and I’ve decided to stay home and work on Nik’s site.. which is way overdue, but then again he’s not even paying me peanuts.. so he’s not even getting half a monkey out of me.. haha. Yes, I’ve been meaning to finish it but I haven’t had time to work on it properly..

My cousin Justin’s turning 23 tomorrow, so there’s gonna be a little dinner at home here for him. Might get Roy to pick me up to party tomorrow because Phuong’s friend is having her birthday and it’s another excuse to get out of the house. I haven’t partied at all since I got here and the only alcohol I’ve consumed was at dinner.. and a glass of Caiprioski at this yuppie bar called Cru Bar near Roy’s place. It cost me about RM 35. Mad.

I wanna party and dance and party and danceeeeee!! I have a new catsuit I wanna wear out.. hehe! By the way, I’ve convinced Nik to post the occasional party info on this site, thought you might wanna know ;)

Retail Frenzy!

Yesterday was crazy! My aunt took me and my mom and the rest of the crew to Harbour Town down the coast and it was just nuts. Harbour Town is a outlet shopping mall so you can imagine we got kinda crazy. Well, I did anyway. I came out of that place with 13 shopping bags and for the first time I had to put the bags down while I shopped because they were too heavy! The coolest stuff I bought includes a Trent Nathan coat for $35 (originally $449), a pair of really cool Morrissey pants for $25 (originally $269) and a catsuit from Cue for $39 (it was retailing at $280) There was also a Bendon outlet there where I bought yet somemore lingerie.. I know I said I wouldn’t shop anymore but it’s mom’s fault! I bought ‘working’ clothes mostly.. like a skirt suit and a vest.

Sigh. Now i have to think about repacking my luggage otherwise I’ll be even more overweight than I already am..

A picture says a 1000 words, so.. here’s my couple of thousand for the day.

View of Queensland from the sky.

Surfer’s Paradise!

Found some cool mirrors at Raptis Plaza

Duty Free Shopping Haven!

Almost looks like Miami, gotta love palm trees!

This is where I tried to get a tan.

Jame’s St Bistro where I had dinner with Roy and his girlfriend.

Day 2 on the coast!
Day 2 was fun, I went to the coast again, this time with the full intention of getting a tan so the first thing I did was go bikini shopping! I bought a cool blue and white one from Roxy and armed myself with tanning oil, the latest issue of Australian Cosmo and a towel and headed to the beach which was conveniently about 2 minutes away from everything. It was really fun having time to myself but I kept getting interrupted by cute beach boys playing touch footie! On one of the occasions I jumped in the surf to get the sand off me, I found a rather tall dark handsome type lying on my towel. It was wierd.

I’m like, ‘Excuse me, that’s my towel!’

He gave me this huge grin and said ‘I know, I was waiting for you to come back!’

Kinda struck me dumb for like 10 minutes. No, seriously. I didn’t know what to say. I ended up making small talk with him about the weather (damn I’m creative) and he gave me his number. I ended up with 6 phone numbers from random guys that day.. the locals must be very friendly indeed. Roy’s giving me shit now because I was waiting at the lobby of his office for him to come down and I got picked up by 3 guys. He came out to see me surrounded by them and (I swear, I was just sitting there minding my own) he’s now endlessly giving me shit about it. Argh.

We went for dinner with his girlfriend Phoung and his friend Dan at Jame’s St Bistro which is just round the corner from Roy’s pad. Roy’s new place (yes, he put me up to this) is a really cool glass and metal loft apartment in the middle of an arty (and gay) surburb in the city that cost half a mil and a total chick magnet place. There, said it. I’d post some pictures but his place is a mess because he just moved in here 4 weeks ago.

I honestly think it’s quite nice. And very convenient. Honest! Plus, it’s down the road from Family and Press Club (club/bar respectively) and Chinatown..

Day 3 in the city!
I’m staying with Roy at the moment, he was sweet enough to give me his girlfriend’s set of keys and when I woke up this morning I went straight to the lap pool for 20 laps (the water was freezing!) and had breakfast with Roy before he went to work. Then later on Roy’s friend James dropped me and his girlfriend off in the city and I had lunch with Phuong.. then it was a huge mission to get a prepaid internet account so I can come online. I bought an Optus account.. hehe. I walked around Newfarm for ages till I found a post office. Today’s city day.. kinda staying in and staying online for a while to chat with Nik and Tiff. I’ve been to Brisbane so much before that I don’t even feel like shopping here.. but I did buy a $20 black dress which was on sale. It’s a black tube, kinda bondage-like with zippers. It’ll go well with my black studded heels I brought back with me!

I can’t shop anymore. Phuong seems to be the perfect shopping partner and today we looked at the pair of Sass and Bide jeans I’ve been meaning to buy.. but I’m 20kgs overloaded (luggage, not fat hehe) and can’t afford to shop! Argh!!

KUL-SG-BNE

I’m in sunny Queensland now.. although it’s 10:30 at night and isn’t looking very sunny at the moment. I went from airport to the Gold Coast, thanks to a very timely call to Roy who made a u-turn to pick me up from my uncle’s place. He was on his way to work, so we went for brunch and he left me to my own. I walked around abit and went to this spot on Surfer’s Paradise that I always go to when I’m there and had a little time out to reflect on my past 2 months in KL. I had a good day. About 2pm in the afternoon I went back to Roy’s office to meet up with him and there was an Anthrax scare.. how bizarre is that? So all the people were just gathered around the cafe downstairs and pointing up and I’m like.. Anthrax? That’s so last year! Hehe..

Flights were great, managed to even throw a little bit of shopping in because I was in transit in Changi for 2 hours.. haha! I bought Nik this really cool ******** which I’m gonna somehow pass to him when his boss comes to Brisbane next week. I got to Brisbane bright and early and super tired because I only managed to get two hours of sleep on the plane. I met a really nice steward though, who gave me two servings of every meal. He probably thought I was a pig for asking.. LOL.

Will try to find a WiFi place tmrw.. apparently there aren’t any.. I don’t know. Roy’s not a very reliable tech-related source

Hello Goodbye

Sunday, September 21st, 2003

Time really flies when you’re having fun.. I find myself saying this all the time. I’m leaving for Brisbane tomorrow evening (actually, since it’s past midnight, later this evening) and I’m not sure if I’m ready to leave. I always feel this way before I have to leave KL. I’m almost done packing and there’s a million things I want to do and a million people I want to see before I go but somehow there’s just not enough hours in a day. So if I didn’t have time for you, it’s not because I don’t want to see you.. and I’m genuinely sorry I have been so busy. Friendships take time, I know.

I should get some sleep.. and maybe tell you about Nik’s birthday party we had on Friday night the next time I blog

Malaysia Boleh!

Today is banking day! It’s a little bit of a privilege that my dad works in one so I had priority service, LOL. He also took me to Pasar Rakyat to buy some things I needed to pick up. I’ve never been to that place before and I have to say it’s a pleasant surprise. It’s not exactly the flashiest place but you can get almost everything there at a pretty decent price. I spent most of my afternoon with dad which was cool since I haven’t been spending enough time with him and I’m leaving on Sunday. Going for dinner now. Be back later.

Busy busy!

Today is a good day for anything! This is my ‘just-rolled-out-of-bed’ mantra.

Yesterday I caught up with alot of people I haven’t had time to see, auntie Harriet being one. She’s actually my ex-bf’s mom and I think she’s one of the most interesting people I’ve ever met. I love her to bits! To me, she’s more like a godma, and has always been there for me. I also caught Douglas for like 5 seconds in Mont Kiara when he was doing a shoot in Chakri, Dennis my dear childhood friend whom I once hated for getting straighter A’s than I did over pork ribs and pasta and Kai over chicken and cheese sandwiches and rather funny conversation. Kai looks like Clark Kent. Hiaks!

Today will be rather busy for me.. I’ve somehow managed to forget to do my banking related stuff and kinda assumed since both my parents work in a bank, they’d sort it out, but boy, am I wrong. I got a long lecture last night so today I will be pretty busy sorting out money and insurance! And I *still* have some shopping to do..

I’m so busy I’m going nuts just thinking about it, but then again I’ve had it easy for the past month. Here are some pictures as promised!

My bear Scott and my new keychain ducky trying to get drunk.

Ducky close up. I love him!

At the Anthony Robbins thing.

Me at the thing.

Me attempting to look like ducky on the way to the thing.
