Strip

Monday, July 31st, 2006

Rejoice.. there is finally a nice new place to get your nether regions defuzzed in confidence. Strip, a chain from Singapore, just opened its doors in Bangsar very recently. We were invited over for a brazillian wax on Friday and I must say I loved it. The service was very professional and fast. The interior was very quaint.. plush (love the padded booths) and grunge (fences, cement floors, raw wood finishes) at the same time. They do manicures and the like as well.. and I’m quite excited that they stock my fave OPI colour (Samoan Sand) which is almost impossible to find in most places. It’s the most perfect shade of warm beige ever. They even have a mens’ version of the wax, the Boy-zillian, if you want your man defuzzed too. Hyuks. They are across from Burger King if you wanna check em out.

Oh by the way, Benefit is finally available here. About bloody time :)

Almost there..

Managed to sort my connection manually, only to find out I have to wait for TMNet to activate the line. It takes approximately three working days. I just wonder why it’s not already settled upon registration and account activation (already activated two days ago).. now there’s an extra three-day wait for line activation pulak. These guys are so inefficient. But what to do, sole ISP of the nation, they are free to be as inefficient as they want and we just have to smile and be grateful there is internet in this country.. so frustrating.

I bet you when the line is up the speed will remain constantly under the 1MB line I am paying for.

More free gym memberships this way please

Wednesday, July 19th, 2006

I went to a gym last night after work. It was quite strange being there yet it seemed strangely familiar from my days at Vaughn’s gym. My old regime that used to look quite professional and serious (as if I knew what I was doing) has, after a 3-year absense, been reduced to 30 minutes on the treadmill, followed by a couple of half-hearted reps on several machines and some curls before throwing in the towel and heading for the showers.

This morning walking up the stairs, my glutes mockingly reminded me that I’m no longer as fit as I used to be. Shucks, I guess a bit of pudge does creep up on you over time. I’m not really motivated to do anything though.. because I’m not unhappy about it.

Short weekend

The JUICE party was quite good…! Was initially worried about the venue, being ex-feng-tau-warp and all that, but the turn out was better than last years. Cosmicspacemunkys (Joey G and Bobo) played a pretty decent set which I enjoyed quite a bit, although I think Rudy (of duo Garu, with DJ Gabriel) should stick to hosting the Hitz.fm morning show. When he disappeared halfway through, I doubt anyone noticed he was gone. However Gabriel did a good job.. as always. There was plenty of alcohol going around in the VIP area and alot of people were surprised that I’ve quit drinking. Haven’t really partied in the last 6 months or so.. I find WoW a better waste of my weekends.

We downed Nefarian last Monday, but totally sucked at Chromaggus on Friday with Time Lapse and Ignite Flesh. Partly due to shortage of Hourglass Sands. Hopefully this week we’ll get there again. Checked out AQ40 yesterday without getting very far. Lots of drama going on in Tichondrius, with some friends transferring out and ninja looting aplenty.. looks like just another day in WoW.

Worked all Sunday at Eric’s new photography studio on two Stuff shoots. Went pretty well, the models were great to work with and we wrapped up quite early. Waking up 8am on Sunday after a late Sat night was kind of hard though. I only managed to get to sleep at 5am. Had to rely on big white sunnies to cover up my squinty eyes. Nik thinks I make the job look glam, but I think people who actually work in this industry know full well that it’s not. Fell asleep at the studio in between shoots!

Love his new studio. Plenty of sunlight with floor-to-ceiling windows and high walls. Kind of reminds me of a loft I once stayed at in NZ. Would so love to get a place like that for myself.

Have been forgetting my camera on these rare occasions that I actually go out, so I’ll have to wait for the photographers to send us back pictures. Eek.
