So much for not buying shoes pt. 1

Friday, March 30th, 2007

Broke my resolution today. Not bad lah, 3 months plus, 1 pair.

So we had a team lunch in Bangsar today. Then April insisted we check out these rubber shoes in Bangsar Village. I’m like, so skeptical about rubber shoes right, like ewwww.. rubber.. thinking she’s going to point out another Crocs-type thing (ugh ugh) so I didn’t get too excited about seeing these shoes instead got distracted by a pair of Aldo peep-toe leopard fur sky-high dominatrix stilts I wish I could afford. But it’s April, she’s the editor of the funkiest street culture mag in the country, and I should trust her taste more because these rubber shoes actually fucking rock. OMG!

And so I ended up with a pair. Har har. Damned impulse shopping. But I feel the same way about them that I do about all my United Nudes.. it’s a piece of design innovation history you know? And I love shoe design. Especially if they’re designed by non-shoe designers, like architects (for UN).. I mean, how many people can say they have Kevlar soles? Best part is, they are fucking comfortable.

OMG April…..!

Watched Top Gun after Karazhan today. Tom Cruise was so sizzling hot back then OMG. He has got a seriously sexy grin. Glad I picked it up, can’t remember most of the movie from the first time I watched it on LD. I think I want aviators.

Am going to be busier in the next couple of weeks if that’s actually possible. The Malaysian leg of F1GP is right around the corner and with it comes a whole slew of exciting events: am looking forward to meeting the verrrrry hot Lewis Hamilton, stealing Kimi’s Evian bottle and being at the race track. There are a million F1 parties going on but I think I’m only going to be at one. Then there’s work (bunch of new projects coming up) and the launch of JUICE Annual 2006 next Wednesday, as well as a fashion party for Topshop/Topman SS07 we’re co-organising.. and Stuff’s 3rd Anniversary to follow. I wonder how I’m going to fit everything into my already crazy schedule.

Bought another gig of RAM for my MBP today among other things. It’s been almost a year since I bought this baby and I’m thinking it’s a good idea to extend the warranty for another two years. Ended up spending more than 2k today. What is it about Apple that makes you actually feel HAPPY spending money? Oh God I’m gonna be a happy broke this month.

One way to wake up

Considering how late I usually knock off, its a bit of a surprise even to myself that I jumped out of bed at 7:30 with Bodyrocker’s I like the way you move in my head. It’s now blasting in my room and I’m incredibly pumped. Eek.

Travel bugged

Monday, March 26th, 2007

Been a bit of a whirlwind since I got back from Phils. The trip itself was awesome, the wedding was gorgeous and as a bonus I even got a tan. Did zero shopping (except duty free). People have been asking me what I thought of the country… I can’t say much having spent most of my time on Panglao Island. Am sure the city is very different. The beach was heaven. Lying on it at 2am with the sky full of stars will be one of the nicest memories I will have of Bohol.

EE invited me on another island trip this weekend - he is nuts. I haven’t even recovered from Bohol! Plus, a sunburn on top of another sunburn is not a pretty sight. I’m glad I didn’t go. Work has been hectic and the weekend is sort of nice to have as a buffer.

Thinking of visiting Jules in HK soon. I think the travel bug has bit me nice and hard this time. Had a sort of fall-out with Steve so I guess Asia mid-year is off the books. Nik’s going to make a trip with some friends to Melbourne in August and I’m so tempted to go along with them. Lola and Audrey are really fun people to travel with I’ll bet. And my best friend Tiff is busy bouncing her way across Europe as I write. I am so jealous. At the moment I’d better concentrate making money to fund this madness though. Hehe.
