It’s been a while since I shared a DIY - here’s one I did recently on the pair of shoes from this post. Unfortunately they’re now sold out, but this will work on anything with a covered heel. Here are a few similar pairs I found - 1, 2, 3 - but it’s probably a better idea to do this on something you already own and want to refresh. Instructions after the jump :)

Had a great start to my week when Shopbop delivered these shoes in record time. I’ve been wanting these since I saw them on Fashiontoast late last year and then they went on sale and my will to resist them dissipated. Already worn them twice and it’s only Wednesday. Here’s a close up:

I’ve found the perfect alternative to these sold-out Theyskens’ Theory wedges (left) I’ve been lusting after for a while. I never got round to buying them because I couldn’t really justify any kind of cost-per-wear when I only wear heels about once every fortnight. But I snapped up the Topshop version (right) as soon as I saw them on sale today – at least without the hefty price tag, I won’t feel too bad about adding some screw-on cone spikes to the back heel!

Just a little heads up for my Aussie readers: J.Crew now ships down under, and shipping via DHL Express is free until the end of April! I think I’m in ballet flats heaven :)

Classic black stilettos are the shoe closet equivalent of the LBD, yet the perfect pair is so hard to find! I’ve been on the lookout for a replacement pair ever since the one pair I had fell apart a year ago..
My requirements are:
1. Under 4 inches so I can wear them all day
2. Leather, well made
3. Deep vamp for some toe cleavage
4. Pointed toe, but not overly sharp
5. Not too expensive so I can buy two, in case the first one falls apart :)
I haven’t really come across many that fit the bill. Maybe I’m too particular :) Of course I wouldn’t say no to these 85mm Pigalle Christian Louboutin shoes above.. they are perfect in every way, except I can’t buy two!
What do you look for in a classic black shoe? Do you prefer flats, heels or wedges?
