Camouflage

I so seldom tuck anything into my jeans, but I’ve been loving wearing more high-waisted cuts lately so I suppose this is a natural progression. There is an unintentional hint of 90s vibe about this look. Just some lazy weekend running around was all we had planned. My hard drive at work died a painful death this week so it’s been a little busier than usual while I play catch up with my deadlines. Need more hours in a day!

I had never heard of a “coatigan” before what a fun word! Shame it’s sold out, looks like it was such a sale bargain!

It’s really nice on you with the denim :) Shame about your hard drive at work, technology always fails at the worst time!

Thanks Mica. Yeah it is, kind of a cute word too. I started searching for that and some interesting pieces came up.. hmm… :)

Ah, ASOS and their coatigans. I was looking for a dupe of an open gray cardigan Theory had at the outlet shops, but last year’s run looked like it was made of thin fabric. Also, do you ever notice that some open/unstructured cardigans make you look bulkier? That’s my biggest pet peeve about shawls and such, I feel like it’s hard to find a cut or volume that flatters rather than adds mass in wrong places. :P

Thinner cardis are great for layering though I’m generally bad at caring for delicate things like knits so I tend not to buy them so much. And yes! They do! Throwing loose over tight helps with the illusion I think.

There’s definitely something 90s about this look- the slip ons, the high waist, the cardigan. And I dig it all! Specially that cardigan. You keep making me want cold weather ;) Sorry about the hard drive :(

i am always a fan of the half-tuck look but usually steer clear of anything high waisted. might try this look on myself. it looks amazing on you. =)

I’m do love tucking things into high waisted styles, I really need some more pairs of good high waist jeans. I love the slight 90’s vibe, it’s very subtle & not over the top like I’ve seen a lot of recently. I’m starting to understand how my mum felt when I started wearing lots of vintage 70s/80s stuff as a teen now I see all these girls dressing like I used to! The whole revival thing feels a bit weird when you actually used to dress that way! Hah. Good luck catching up on deadlines, that’s such a pain!

so in love with this jacket! high-waisted paints can be perfect for tucking in your shirt. i’m not much of a tucker either, but i’ve found myself doing it more often lately!
