This draped top is adding a literal twist to my classic white tank and jeans combo; something I used to wear so often that I considered it a uniform of sorts. Definitely grateful for clothes that allow me to roll out of bed early on a Saturday morning and look halfway coherent. Here’s another way I styled it recently. And this is the Helmut Lang version that inspired me to hunt this down!

I think I’m getting to a point where I consider most things in my wardrobe “basics” and find myself more partial to non-bodycon things, slightly baggy jeans. Is this what 30s are like? Am I turning into my mum? No time better to say this than the day after Mother’s Day, since my mum is possibly the best person I could turn into :) And while I’m on that subject, a happy belated Mother’s Day to all you mums out there!!

Hehehe I’m finding that I sway more to basics these days, though I’m still in my mid twenties! Should I be worried LOL!

To be honest, I like yours better than the Helmut Lang version cause of the material. The other one seems to exemplify all of the creases. Looks very elegant on you :) Also just followed you on insta!

I laughed so much at your second paragraph! I’ve been thinking the same thing rather often lately. I’m avoiding more often than not more fitted items. I thought it was due to not being as active anymore but if two of us are thinking that way, maybe I can cut myself some slack and wrack it up to being in my ’30s’ too. I’m 36 so maybe my clothes will get baggier than yours. Just kidding! I think fashion is a little different than our 20s but it’s more about what’s in fashion and also lifestyle. I don’t think we are turning into our mothers. Not yet :)

Love that draped top on you, it looks so nice with the jeans! And of course your Balenciaga :)

Following you on instagram now too, pleased to see you have a MbMJ hillier hobo in that pic you shared of the top - we do have such similar bag tastes. Now if only I could get my clothes to be as stylish as yours….haha :)

The top is perfect, such a great buy! I’ve been hunting for something similar in black for a while myself.
The majority of my wardrobe seems to be basics with a little bit of a twist too, I think it’s more to do with quality/quantity for me. I’ve been trying for years to buy less crap & more quality and the pieces I tend to wear over & over are quite classic, so it’s those I find myself buying more of these days.

That draped top is fantastic and it looks great on you! Much more interesting than a simple tank top and still comfortable.

The top is a great piece: basic, but with a lot of character! And of course during the w-e we want to wear something nice AND comfortable! I don’t think it’s a matter of being in our 30s, but with time we know our style and what kind of clothes suit us better, and I think you have a very distinctive sense of fashion, which I like a lot!

l have been a sucker for everything loose fitting ever since i was a teenager. i think that zara top is simple and sexy. tried it on at the store the other day. it hung a little to low on me. but it looks good on you. you look amazing. =)
