Supastar

Friday wasn't so bad after all. In fact it turned out to be quite good. I went back early after work (well, 7pm isn't exactly early for most) to catch up on some sleep but that didn't happen. Instead, I found myself reading up on Greek Mythology.

Anyway. Come 10pm, I found myself in Velvet Underground for Found@Thirst Finals, drinking Heineken and (ooh) get a load of this:

The first person Nik saw when he walked into Velvet was the man himself! Of course, we wouldn't want to pass up the photo op.. and I convinced myself to get over the sudden shy-attack. I got to speak to him for like 2 minutes.. hiaks. He's nice. The rest of the night proved to be super. DJ Blink won the final battle (we voted for him.. he's such a cutie and he's got good vibes) and we went to Nouvo right after for the RBK Launch. I almost didn't want to leave because I was having such a good time.

Lynn is convinced Nik is trying to pick up Roy so we took a photo for evidence..

Nouvo was packed out for the launch and when we got there, almost everyone was long intoxicated. I didn't bother catching up, so I suppose I can safely assume that I was probably the only person who wasn't drinking like mad. Must be a good thing. Must be a good thing. Must be a good thing.

Saturday night! Tiesto fevah!

We went early for this gig but everyone else had the same idea. It was packed and the line went around the block when we got there at 10pm.. lucky thing my boss decided not to go and give me his media pass so we got in pretty easily.

The crowd inside. There were more people outside waiting to get in, believe me.

I heard they stopped selling tickets because there were just too many people.. it turned out to be true when Nik & I tried going outside to give Eleana a ticket. Even with tickets, they couldn't get in for over an hour.. but they got in just in time for Tiesto. It was crazy, I tell you.

The music was good though. I had a great time! We even went to Jalan Alor to tarpau the famous Wong Ah Wah chicken wings for supper after the gig! Yum!

tiesto was so good. i think i rekindled my love for trance just from sat nite. zouk sucks though ... the venue management was in complete shambles. heineken should do an outdoor gig. it was very humid and hot in there too. zouk = crap.

This year Thirst innitiative from Heineken was better than last year in terms of turnout. It was the bitter experience from last year's event that drove Heineken to use zouk instead of doing it an a bigger venue. Last year was Paul Oakenfold at Mines, and it wasn't even half full...

Zouk needs better crowd control, and manners.

Steph : Ya i know!!! But it was a crazy night! I was right in front at the side. I didn't bother going up. Even walking to the toilet takes me about 7 minutes! Darn it. No worries... Maybe this 'not getting to catch you' has a deeper meaning to it like... err... err... nvm. Haha!

Nik : I agree! Last year's was kinda boring... Oakenfold was cool but bad turnout. As the night goes on, in my head i was "damn i am not gonna attend BIG events in zouk again." Wish Tiesto was in an outdoor event. That'd be so cool!

i waited outside for over an hour to get in and found out later that tix were all sold out. *boohoo* so much for tiesto. blech.

shen, even with tickets some people didn't get to go in. the problem is.. i think.. with people coming late. alot turned up as early as 8pm!
