The usual diatribe

So a picture is worth a thousand words. I tried looking for one to sum up my year so far because I figured that with so much happening of late, it would be a nice Wednesday evening challenge. It turned out to be futile, like the old needle in the haystack adage, because this one picture would have to encompass so many sentiments and emotions and yet convey some negatory elements because otherwise it would be a lie.

But looking at all the pictures I've taken this year they seem to be a good representation of my year thus far. Of course, no one can be a hundred percent satisfied and there are things that I would change, and things that I regret but it's been good anyway.

I'm a little melancholic at the moment. It must've been the sudden change of environment, or something.. I can't pinpoint what exactly. Jumping out of bed this morning I was anticipating many things, all positive exactions that now seem to belie reality. I don't know what I was expecting, because days like these always turn out to be exactly the same as the last. I'm all for theatrics and overdramatisation of mundane accounts, but even that seems to elude me because I have nothing to start with.

That is a testament as to how I'd rather be some place else right now.

Perhaps sitting on a bench in a park somewhere with a good book and a beer. Or kicking back my stilettos with a girlfriend and a cocktail. Or sipping a flat white over good conversation (I'd even listen to Warcraft debates all night if I could just get out of here for a sec).
