KL Photo Diary

Here are some photos from my recent trip to Kuala Lumpur. It feels like ages ago now looking at these but I’ve only been back in Sydney for a week. While most of our time was spent with friends and family during the Lunar New Year festivities, this time around with W in tow, I managed to visit a few touristy spots: the bird park, Batu Caves, Central Markets, a number of places of religious worship, and of course, the Twin Towers.. despite being a native KLite this was the first time I saw the city from 86 floors up and it was nothing short of spectacular.

W and spent Valentine’s Day eating in complete darkness (it was quite strange) and like most trips seem to be over in too short a time. I hope you enjoy these photos!

Thanks so much M, I’m so glad you enjoyed. Asia is quite different to the rest of the world so I tried to portray that as best as I could.

Stephanie, the pictures in this post are soooo exquisite! i don’t even know where to start! the food looks scrumptious. the architecture is breathtaking. especially the one with the numerous figures on the outside. omg’d it’s beautiful. i’m sorry i don’t know the proper name. who is that guy with the shades on in the pic all by himself? gosh he is GORGEOUS!!! hahaha amazing post doll. i wanted to tell you my instagram account got all screwed up. so the other night it looked like this girl took your profile pic (that’s the comment where i had you look hahaha). well i deleted and re-installed instagram, so everything is working fine again.

That’s a Hindu temple.. most of them are like that and they are really intricate and pretty to look at :) And that’s W, my boyfriend who also takes the photos for me. He will be stoked with that compliment xx

Loooved this post Steph! The cityscapes are breathtaking & all of that food looks incredible too. The shots of the market/caves/temples are really gorgeous as well, I’d love to go visit them sometime, hopefully one day! :)
I have to say I don’t like the sound of dining in the dark, as I’m such a fussy eater, but I bet it was a real experience & what a cool idea for valentines! Did you think it was a good strange or a bad strange?

    • http://absolutely-fuzzy.com Stephanie

KL is quite a unique city I think, if you ever visit let me know ;) Dining in the Dark was good strange I think. It was a very interesting experience not seeing what you’re eating but I probably wouldn’t do it a second time. At one stage I was convinced I was having fish but it turned out to be chicken so it does actually boggle the mind a little.. so much of what we eat is visual :) x

Lovely pictures and what great memories you will have from them. The roasting chestnuts and spiral incense coils always remind me of when I visit Hong Kong.

But I really like the ones of your friends - that’s the kind of pictures which remind you of how much fun you really had.

    Kickass green skirt too ;o)

    • http://absolutely-fuzzy.com Stephanie

Don’t forget the street food too ;) x

Steph, it looks like you had a wonderful trip, thanks for sharing these pictures! This year I might go to KL (not certain, but I’m considering it…) and, if you don’t mind, I would love to ask for your advice!

    • http://absolutely-fuzzy.com Stephanie

Caterina it would be my pleasure to share ;) Definitely let me know xx

WHOA! Check out those humongous prawns! I’ve never been up the Petronas tower. In fact, I haven’t really explored KL other than the quick dashes around town when I was barely 12. Must try to check out the city more when I stop over on my way to NZ.

    • http://absolutely-fuzzy.com Stephanie

The prawns are from the sang har mee from a really old KL institution called Soo Kee Mee. One of the best ever! If you do drop by KL let me know, I can recommend some of the best food places and of course shopping ;) x
