Blogging on the go sans laptop is a little harder than I thought but I wanted to share these photos from our balcony in the historical Barri Gòtic in Barcelona - certainly one of the oldest but most beautiful spaces I’ve stayed in. It overlooks Carrer d’Avinyò, where one of Picasso’s best known works, Les Demoiselles d’Avignon, was inspired by the women at a brothel he met on this very street.
My journey so far has been really fun despite missing a connecting flight on the way in. But we were stuck in Paris so we really didn’t mind! I’m a bit jet lagged in these pics, but took our host’s advice and stayed up til 1am before crashing out. It only really took half a day to get the hang of getting around here and I reckon by the end of it I would have picked up a decent amount of Catalan and Spanish too! On the food front these guys have got it spot on. We haven’t had a bad meal here - but more on that later :)
