Spotted

There’s something classically appealing about white shirts, no matter the season, but in Summer a good white cotton shirt really shines. I’ve never been big on dots but the combination of cut and print on this shirt has changed my mind. It’s possibly my first ever polka dotted garment, too. I love the ratio of dots to space on this, it really could not be more perfect if I’d laid this out in Illustrator myself!

Also - I finally found my holy grail eye liner! This might not be a big thing for most of you who don’t have monolids (which I do) which mean that most of the time any eyeliner I wear sits on the lash line which is mostly tucked under so staying power is the single most important thing, otherwise most of it ends up under my eyes and looking like a panda isn’t one of my many aspirations. I was previously using Stila’s all day waterproof liner, where as far as being smudge-proof is concerned, is as good as they come but has a tendency to fade over the day. Then I got given a sample of Eyeko’s Skinny liquid liner and was blown away at how well this product performed. Even without a dusting of setting powder (which I use on top to help absorb oil during the day/minimise migration) this liner did not budge or fade. In fact without a proper remover it’s quite hard to take off. It’s amazing stuff - especially if you have monolids like me you’re going to love it. I’m already on my second one. If you’re in Australia you can find it at Kit.

I know! I always just felt dots were too whimsical - mostly due to Yayoi Kusama’s work which I love but just not on me, haha!

I did love her work on the Louis Vuitton bags….hahaha!

Thanks so much Rae! I edited them in Lightroom. These pics were + Clarity (mid tone contrast in Photoshop) and - Saturation.. having a gnarly old tree helped :)

Yes Stila is great! And I’m hoping to get the Eyeko too once the plain black is in stock on ASOS (as I don’t really need the other products in the Alexa Chung kit).

Loving that first shot of you too, you look gorgeous!

As much as I love the way liquid eyeliner looks I’ve got to stay away from it because I suck so bad at putting it on. No matter how hard I try it always comes out all wonky and just looks like a mess. Glad to hear you found a great one though!

Absolutely love this outfit on you. So clean and crisp. Also, the location is gorgeous! xx

i’m not a polka dot fan either but like how delicate the spots are on this one. That H&M bag is a winner too, coveting ! xx

I love me some polka dot goodness but I actually do not own any, as of right now anyway lol. I never find any when I am out or about, it kinda hides from me. Don’t know why but…

Eeep, you’ve really got me wanting to purchase the polka dot version of the top! I love how you styled it with nikes. I haven’t yet mastered the skill of wearing running shoes with non-workout outfits. As you already know from IG, I’m insanely jealous about the bag!

I used to be such a fan of polkadots when I was younger, I went through a bit of a phase of wanting to be Gwen in the ‘Don’t Speak’ video & had so many navy/black spotty tea dresses! Now I haven’t worn them for years, but this is lovely, so delicate. I cannot believe that bag is H&M! It looks so expensive!
Agree on the Eyeko eyeliner too, I had the navy one in a beauty box & though I don’t really wear navy when I tested it out I was surprised how hard it was to get off! I usually use a pencil as I like the smudgy look, but trying to get a hold of this in black (which seems to be out of stock everywhere!) for when it gets warmer :)

I must have totally forgotten to leave a comment after nabbing your pic for my post :o) But I guess you know I love this and I love the bag and I love the spots. There’s a lot of love here and the tree shots are truly beautiful. You have some of the most visually stunning backdrops for your pics. Just gorgeous.
