Post-it note

Rearranged my room last night. Not entirely, but enough to make it different.

I've been such a bum this entire week. Already Friday, and I only have one book out of six essentials read, gaah! Hopefully I'll get the little plays out of the way today, maybe find some time for that heavy tome that is the Qur-an. Ah, and finish Fahrenheit 9/11. They're spreading the word by allowing free downloads, got mine in less than 30 minutes.

Reminder to self: renew library books!

P/S: For the love of all that is good and pure, finish reading school-related books before anything else!

I caught part of VH1's Divas 2004 a couple of nights ago. Cyndi Lauper's duet with Patti LaBelle (they sang Time After Time) was brilliant. Can't find a decent version online though.

Body combat almost killed me today.

But look, I've been productive ;D Well, not really. Good way to unwind though. Layers of banana nut muslix, peaches and french vanilla yogurt. Parfait, anyone?

Almost done with William Gibson's Neuromancer, phew. Am beginning to understand the Matrix a little bit more in the process.

Home. Now! Please?

Am actually looking at any and all available flights even as I type this. However, even if I *did*, by some miracle, not only have the money to pay for a ticket, but found one that departed within the next 12 hours, I *still* wouldn't be there by the 27th.

So I'll still miss the wedding anyway.

Damn you science people for not creating a cheap teleportal yet! :(

Huh. I think Air Canada doesn't fly to KUL anymore O.o

Home.

Cousin's getting married in less than 24 hours. Called, and uncle thought I made it back in time for the wedding.

I wish I were home.

This the cousin who'd let me (and my siblings) ambush and abuse him when we were little. And when I say abuse, I mean kicks and punches and body slams, to any and all parts within reach, to name a few. And man, let me tell you, when you're ye high and cornered, you kick anywhere. And I mean ANYwhere.

Hehe. It's actually pretty funny. Not for him of course, but for me. Hehe!

Nothing doing. Hoping and wishing will get me nowhere, it's way past my bedtime and sleep hours are all screwed.

Ah duh.

Been feeling under the weather the last few days. Physically blah. Am still good on the inside though ;)

Was *this* close to picking up Better Than Ezra's Deluxe, but I fought the urge and bought groceries instead. Priorities, hmph.

Didn't make it to class on Friday, bumped into my prof later that evening at the department shindig. She was preoccupied with other people though. Guess I'll be skewered the week after, ulp. At any rate, I was there for all of 20 minutes before I took off, but not before another prof told me about an ex-student who graduated, was a stripper for 10 years and is currently teaching at U of T *grins* I also realized two things: one, how intimidating a crowd of Cultural Studies people are, and two, social events are really not my thing.

You know it's getting dry when you nosebleed two days in a row.

I hate feeling shitty.

Yes, Carl is a real person. I met him while at the bus stop, and we talked for a bit. It was rather surreal, slightly frightening, mostly interesting. I had all these questions running through my mind, thought a lot about how people might write him off as 'crazy', 'mentally unstable'. How some people might pretend he didn't exist, walk by, walk off without a nod or a smile. I don't deny I felt like doing that at many points throughout, pull on my headphones when there was a lull in the conversation, maybe walk away instead of waiting for the bus, but in retrospect, I'm glad I didn't. He's a person with insight and thoughts and opinion, and he made the day just that little bit more interesting.

And some dude from the hydro company wanted to speak to my parents when I answered the door. !@#$!!

Almost, not quite

One more class to go, and it'll be Reading Week, yay!

Everyone's taken off with the exception of Renata, but she's spending the night at Daniel's, so it's just me in the house tonight. A little odd, being alone again after the last two months or so. I miss the crazies ;)

Have a very rough idea for my research paper, but am too braindead to work on it anymore.

There's a department shindig going on tomorrow, and I'm still trying to decide if I'm going for the caberet thing in the evening, if only to catch the revival of the Chair of the Department's jazz band. "Witnessing, Resistance, Story: A Symposium" is happening in the afternoon; am rather keen, but I've already made plans with Renata to do some grocery shopping, so bah. Maybe if I'm lucky I'll catch the latter half.

It's 2am. I should sleep.

Early morning wake up call

Nothing like the sound of construction work at 6am to start off the day.

!@#$%^%!

Poor Sarah was jolted awake by the sound of jackhammers, drills and whatnot at the ungodly hour of 6am. The house shook, there's a hole big enough to swallow a truck in the middle of the street, AND THE BASTARDS CUT OFF OUR WATER SUPPLY!

Construction equipment parked practically on our lawn, and the hole to hell. I didn't bother to get a closer shot, was in my jammies and it's cold outside :P

3 more days 'til Reading Week. Temperature's dropped significantly, and there's a bag that I want I want I waaaant. But Sarah says no. Bah.

Am almost a week late, but to all my Muslim friends and family, Selamat Berpuasa! *hug*

Cha-ching!

Score another for shopaholic tendencies.

Made it for lecture, slept through tutorial. Actually, I use the word 'slept' lightly. It was more along the lines of 'passed out right through tutorial'.

Man, I really *do* have to fix my Wednesday nights.

At any rate, I have three new tee shirts *does a little dance*, it's spitting rain outside, and I ache.

Kayla, if you read this, I bought a Puma vest and thought of you ;D I don't know why though *shrug* Did we talk about Puma stuff a long time ago?

Transference of emotion

This house is crazy. Maybe it's the asbestos oozing from the walls.

There was a scream last night, one that made Punky get ready to dial 911 while Api planned to turn out the lights and lock the door and climb out the window. Reminder to self: kill Mao at first opportunity.

Worked on my essay 'til past 3am, was up at 9-ish to finish it. Missed the bus, was late for class, prof wasn't all too pleased, bleh. At least I got it in on time.

Advanced Theatre was held downtown today, and it was awesome. We played a couple of games like the slow motion race, mimesis and transference of emotion. Outside the local mall, we ran the slowest race imaginable (last person to cross the lamp post wins), before breaking up for about 15 minutes and stalked strangers, immitating their gait and walk. Jim trailed some guy he referred to as Keanu (for the stoner expression on his face) for 6 blocks before heading back to the mall. I was following some lady to the ground floor when I heard an exclamation behind me: it was my prof, and he didn't realize it was me he was trailling, lol. The mimic of a mimic mimicking someone else. It was fun! One of our classmates also caught him imitating a pigeon when he thought no one was watching...

Another game we played consisted of five actors in a pose of oppression, and we had to improvise on dialogue while mimicking their pose. Soon thereafter, we adjourned to a local pub and held the rest of class under the influence of alcohol. Ah, and you can bet we earned lots of odd looks while at the mall.

It's for moments like these that I thank my stars I'm a cultural studies major ;)

Was tired when I got home, but I headed downtown with Sarah and Api to do some grocery shopping. Got home and decided to bake some chocolate chip banana walnut bread, mm.

Anyway, it's about time I caught up on sleep. Have an appointment for tomorrow.

Telly overdose

The weekend's almost over, just like any other.

Watched From Justin to Kelly, 'terrible' being an understatement. That's an hour and a half of my life that I will never get back, bastards. 50 First Dates more than made up for it though, I thought it was wonderfully done.

Have an essay due Tuesday, so I should get some sleep and work on that in the morning.

It's that time of the year again, where the city of Peterborough is packed to its gills with people, there is severe shortage in liquor availability in local LCBOs and beer is the beverage of choice for the next 48 hours: it's Head of the Trent people!

H.O.T.T. is not only one of the largest rowing regattas in North America, it's Alumni Weekend, also known as the "imbibe-beer-in-your-body-weight-'til-you're-sick-and-then-imbibe-some-more-all-weekend" party. Basically, it's an excuse to get seriously drunk and party hard. This time last year, I was at some house downtown doing shots while Punky and Sarah were at The Vibe 'til the early AM. Suffice to say, 'plastered' was an understatment.

Bryan's up to celebrate his birthday, Renata' boyfriend invited us over for a breakfast kegger and I think most of us are heading up to campus tomorrow bright and early to hang out at the beer tents. For now, we had ice cream cake, Sarah and Bryan just got back from catching Ladder 49, Api's chilling with a friend downstairs, Punky's on the 'phone and I'm ready to get some sleep.

It's quiet in the house.

Everyone's away for Thanksgiving weekend, and even though Di and Sarah both invited me to their homes, I declined for the possibility of cat-sitting for Sarah H. Also, I just needed some 'me' time.

Am still reeling from the obscene amount of money spent this week. Quite easily, $400 on miscellaneous items. No, not shopping. But stuff. Yah.

Ah well.

I give up on Greymatter. Will be trying to move back to MT asap, depending on tech support.

Am yawning. Must sleep. Will write more tomorrow.

Maybe this will post.

So, between those two last posts, there was... nothing much, really. Ice cream all gone, H.O.T.T. passed by with crappy weather and not much of a peep out of us, Wing Night was excellent, I missed two separate classes in a week, had a doctor's appointment, haven't spoken to anyone (with the exception of housemates) for, uh, am not too sure, spent too much, got to know Renata much better, posted some pictures up, laughed a lot.

The usual.

Oh, oh! Watched Chasing Liberty. Very nice :)

I should clean my room. Or do dishes. Maybe burn a CD. Catch up on reading. Am waaaay behind, gaah. Too busy.
